I can picture the ladies of the Like, stymied with inactivity since their 2005 debut, hearing The Bird and the Bee and going "Chuh! We can outdo THAT!" and then trying fiercely. And they almost do it!

I was put off, on first listen to Release Me, by all the rinky-dink girl-group shenanigans that are imposed on the songs on this album. As it went on, I was like "Hmm...this gets better as it goes along! When does that ever happen?" By the end I was into it!

Then, on replaying, I was "Wait! What the hell is wrong with me? This is great!"

Okay, so, to recap: still no Bird and the Bee, yet, withal, ace!

Maybe next the Forces That Toil In Endless Pointlessness will see fit to remaster all of Peter Criss's solo stuff and the Billy Ocean catalogue!
