Few things are more asinine than the proclivity of Rock People to misspell the band name of the late, great Brainiac (see how that works?). All the time I see this, and from people who should not be this dim: Braniac. As if the band were named after some Fruit and Fibre offshoot, not the early computer/slang name for eggheads...it doesn't even make sense!
I have been irked by this for at least 17 years, and just recently it occurred to me how this happens; these poor benighted souls are thinking it would rhyme with MANIAC (which is does), so hence: Braniac. So when these sad, sad assholes mistype it, they think they are doing the right thing.
