No, not the one from the mid-80's band scene in D____, she of the "Cities in Dust" 45's and attitude! Rather, the one from the 90's New York Times food column and her awesome books New York Cookbook and A Well-Seasoned Appetite. Why does she not have MORE COOKBOOKS WRITTEN??? By now they (the imaginary cookbooks, as I think of them, would have come out in 1996, 1998 and 2002) would all be for sale CHEEP on Alibris, as well as being generally erudite and funnily self-deprecating. Instead, she seems to have written an autobiography, and maybe something else I forget from when I looked her up last week (where does all the time go?) for this just-now written post. Bah! Maybe it's depression - her wit and good taste betray it, maybe.Anyway, the shocking part of this whole thing is her brother is Paul O'Neill from the Reds! And, er, Yankees! Crazy!
