Heard Martin Amis on NPR yesterday and was ecstatic in the shock of knowing that he says "Nabokov" like you and I do, not in the "it's too subtle for your philistine English-speaking ears to pronounce it correctly" manner that the man himself would put forth.  Whew.  Now when I'm at, I dunno, Shady Sunoco at Wayne and Keowee, I won't have to worry about embarrassing myself, should VN come up.
