Now what, Nina?

I mentioned my co-worker's girlfriend's dog Nina last September. She eats everything.

The other night co-worker and gf went out to pick up something to eat then came home.  Twenty minutes.

While they were out, Nina ate three-quarters of a loaf of bread, then, feeling full, she proceeded to hide the remaining slices in two different sofas, to save them for later.

NINA!!

The Thanksgiving Hawk

Yes, it sounds like a Glenn Beck or Grisham "novel," but, on Thanksgiving Day, our friends were full-on besieged by a freaking hawk!

Kids were even roused from the basement Parks and Recreation marathon to surface and say "Did you hear that?"

Apparently this guy was diving for something and slammed into the kitchen window!

He wandered around, dazed, then sat on a bit of fencing for a bit and then moved on!

I would call him Laird

My friend Pat (the keeper of the Cement Yard Five, all of whom have homes now) sent this guy along. Orange eyes!

Nina!

A co-worker is seeing or is friends with or something (who really knows what the younger set is doing these days?) a girl who owns Nina. Nina is going through an "eat EVERYTHING" phase, which includes, in the last week, three dozen set-out-to-cool chocolate chip cookies and a couple of roach traps!

And yet she thrives!

I will call bullshit if Gabe/Caitlin do not adopt this three-legged kitten

I started this post yesterday (titled it, anyway) yesterday and Blogger was acting up so I spiked it until today (notice how my failed journalism major in "college" sticks with me, slang-wise!). Well, dammit to hell anyway, this post is already obsolete. But I press on.

I saw this pic of a three-legged kitten via Yay!-book, and naturally assumed that it was at the animal shelter place in Savannah since Gabe/Cait or someone had posted it. I went into overdrive: hundreds of texts (well, one) to the effect that if they did not adopt this tot there would be trouble. Turns out tri-pedal loaf is NOT there, was just a picture that they had seen.

I was all psyched to call the kitten "Greg" after a guy we knew we called "One-Armed Greg." One-Armed Greg actually had both arms, he was just more than a bit grizzled and looked the sort who would pass out on a train track and lose an arm and then wear his flannel shirt cinched up at the site of amputation.

So, Three-Leg Greg!

If I ever do see (human) Greg again, and, in his misadventures somewhere he has indeed lost an arm, I will revert to calling him plain "Greg."

Dig the carpet, as well. Swank!

Mary! Post name of this baby in the comment, s'il te plait!
