New wood guy

Okay, for a couple of years, my wood dude at the Deconstruction Depot place was Matt: I could call him up and say "Matt?  Nick Eddy.  Hey, man.  What's the current situation with 2x10's?"

However, Matt has left to work for his dad.

Now we have Ricky!  He rules.  I asked him to set some pieces aside, that I would be in Thursday to look, took the rabbit over there with me after work last night , saw what was on offer, said to Ricky "Can I pay now and come get these on Saturday?"  Ricky looked at me and said "Nah, man, no one's gonna take those.  Just pay Saturday, I set those aside for you."

RICKY!

Kitchen work 4

Angus is all "What are you doing out there? I want a W-A-L-K!"

Kitchen work 3

Ironic, given the big news of the week, that the sawdust left behind formed a perfect relief map of the Arabian peninsula, when viewed in a mirror and upside-down! Probably!

Kitchen work 2

Perfect 45-degree angles! Joined with a biscuit joiner (of which much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much more later in the week! Well, maybe one post)!

Kitchen work 1

This one hundred year old plank is being fed into a table saw to become a kitchen countertop!

"Lissenin to some Suede over here, boss..."

So, after all the Herculean labor, you would think I would have gone home to watch that Oklahoma State/Texas Tech game or at least steal a Scissor Sisters album off the world wide web...yes, there was a time when the second would have been true, but duty called as I helped Kyle re-side the back of his house! Tongue and groove, nails, me on a table saw cutting off pieces of wood from Menards' at interesting lengths like "102"!" and "Need one cut to 46"!"

Amazing!
