Watched two movies this weekend!
We did, we did! And for further pretense points, they both had subtitles!

The Baader-Meinhof Complex - 2.5 hours of the best 70's senseless terror gang [hello, NSA!] streaming mayhem Netflix could provide!

This was very good, and what blew my mind was the insane number of shots in the movie. I told the Bride this several times during, and then woke her up at 4am to repeat this cunning/winning observation.
Then:
Then:

Together, which I had put off watching for eleven or twelve years even though I knew Anthony Lane had loved it, which means we were duty-bound to as well. Loved it! Painted phone!

Getting smaller as a trend
Ugh, I fully intended to craft some beautiful post about the Suede reissues today, but am SO very sleepy from staying up til 12:30 or so after our neighborhood crime watch walk thing (the 1996-era me just puked all down his stylish sweater). Anyway, I do have to mention that fave British acts as rule fave gotten smaller in stature, as a rule.
60's: Beatles (der!)
70's: Bowie
80's: Smiths/New Order/PSB (a triumvirate, but you get my point)
90's: Suede
00's: The Clientele
I expect that, around ten years from now, my fave band of this current decade will be some guy from Stratford-on-Avon who plays spoons.

Side project Thursday

My beloved Clientele's Alasdair has an exceedingly gentle side project Amor de Dias, which I liked on first play...and the Horrors, who I didn't really ever care too much about have a side thing with the singer and a lady called Cat's Eyes. This is fairly ace!
SO, I guess it's the Summer of the Side Project or some such. Yes, I will make arbitrary distinctions for the purposes of posts.
