Blair Witch?

Check out these mad trellises that Our Mark made down at the SPCG: It really appears as if some sinister doings are afoot, but it turns out it's just some peas. Whew!

Unashamed/get off my lawn

I can say that I have listened to Viva Hate every day this week and not be ashamed. That time of year, I s'pose.

What's that snickering? Just for that, I'm burning one for the truck for the weekend [storming off, all the while wondering whether Moz intended to go "ECK cetera" all the way through "Sweet and Tender Hooligan" {which, duh, is not on this record. I know that. Jesus.}]!!

Come, see a pig slowly destroy the world

Picci, a monster, likes to run outside at any available opportunity. But given that she is a violent, boorish cretin, when she wants in, she wants the fuck in.

To that end, over the last year and a half she has been systematically destroying our kitchen screen door. Oh, there is no stopping her. That's a really cute thought, though.

I suppose hat one of these Saturdays I will have to take the door off, take it apart and pound the screen frame back to some sort of shape with a rubber mallet, which would be a masochistic ecstasy for me, probably.

But WHY? It will all just happen anew.

She's probably tearing your hide-a-bed apart right now out there somewhere, whoever you are.

Overheard

"Cherry vinegarette [sic] on a salad?"

Evening planting

Then, no rest for the wicked, as I left one garden for another to get things further into shape down at the SPCG...

Here is some parsley, just about the first thing that our personal little collectivist enclave stuck all up in the earth:

Josie, who is studying Chinese and peppered our evening with her spot-on accent and new phrases (adorbs!), looks forward to next week's class to ask how to say: "Whaddya want from me?"

And, as the sun set and I scraped manure from the grooves up of my bed liner with the non-business end of a broom (tech!), the kids continued a-planting like some amazing D_____ version of The Gleaners:
