Oh, and Joe

Never forget.

Sometime in the off-season, our Joe was traded to the Panthers.  And HE looks great as well, with Cam Newton out with a broken thumb.  So while the Vikings foolishly let go of the Greatest Player in the History of Mankind, we will have an extra reason to look at the Panthers, to see what Joe is up to.

There is a God

Joe's eye view!
I meet a lot of people who struggle with the idea of God, which is sort of a waste of time.  Believe or don't, you'll never find out.  I have my own set of beliefs and they seem to work and once in a while I see them physically manifest, such as when there is a fucking JOE WEBB HELMET CAM:

EVEN MORE BREAKING!! Joe Webb = wide receiver

This means, of course, that the Vikings will never lose another game ever.

"Green Lantern for Webby?"

Plus, when I went to Dewey's Pizza to pick up a "Green Lantern" that I had phoned in for, when I said "Pizza for Eddy?," she looked up and down her electro-call sheet and her blond ski-bunny brow furrowed, disconsolately.

Me: "It was a 13-inch Green Lantern..."

"Oh!," says she, "we had the last name as Webby..."

WEBBY!

Another amazing omen for America, much more important than some AXE-looking blockhead throwing for 316 yards.

Football? Babies? What happened to me?

Fuck that!

Joe Webb jerseys are GO!

The Bride says she will buy me one if I paint the house, and this is a wash because the (chive green) paint was already purchased in the fall, so of COURSE I'm going to paint the house.

I find it exciting that all the talk all over America today has been about what a great inspiring guy Joe is, as opposed to anyone from the Broncos!

My faith in America is unswayed by that!, etc.

How friendships pay off

Speaking of Mr Glass, he's out in California, traipsing hither and yon with Kyle, no doubt having crazy adventures and being filmed for the Sunday night CBS detective drama The Bear and the Hip-Hop Pioneer. Regardless, he found the necessary eight minutes (such mad skills!) to whip this out, which encapsulates several of my obsessions in one easy-to-post jpeg!

Listen to Joe

"Just come up with great spirit, leads to great victories..."

Gonna wear that sweater tomorrow as a tribute.

No WAY!!!

This has to mean something good!

Sunday night presser:

Then, late afternoon yesterday when I watched this, I was wearing the exact same shirt (under a sweater):

What can he not do?

So, let's see, there was the 63 yard run for a touchdown, the lobbed pass in to the end zone to bring us within six...

Waiting for Joe

When Mr Ponder fumbled and the Lions scored a touchdown about sixteen seconds in, I was, of course, ready to go. "We've seen enough here..."

BUT, miracle of miracles, after five (!) turnovers, Ponder was benched and the mighty JOE WEBB was brought on. Joe's my fave player. No, really! So it was a miraculous bonus to get to see him blow up. Also enjoyable was watching him roam the sidelines with TWO helmets at his sides, one for wide receiving and one for QB-ing.

Joe, getting ready (#14, as if you didn't know):

Odd odds

A tree was blocking the Direct TV satellite where football is watched and the Direct TV Guy said they would be back on Monday to put in a new not-obsolete dish thingy. In the event, he actually came back out with a co-hort on Sunday and games were had and no one had to go to some family-friendly pub establishment to see the Vikings fuck up.

Here's the odd thing, though: the prior Direct TV dish was installed on 9/11/2001 (Kyle remembered the install guy then saying he had an aunt or someone who worked in there and that he hoped she got out. We hope so, too, Digital TV Guy of The Past!)!

The replacement was installed ten years later, to the day.

AND the guy who installed it was Marvin Bush! Probably.

Football is go

All has been discussed and there will be NFL package and there will be snacks.

I could blanch at the 100 buck throw-in, but why? I'm obviously going to win the pool every other week.

ALSO, Joe Webb got a twenty yard TD the other night. Just frickin' saying:

Crisis averted?

The only thing I can figure is that the Vikings got McNabb because the state of Minnesota needs to have Joe Webb, say, run on a treadmill and be the only source of energy for the entire state during the winter, because of budgetary constraints. Maybe.

Let's hope we are ALL students here come fall!

(actually, our friend Clark's son went here - it's the smallest accredited college in the US, on Long Island and it has one program: "naval architecture and marine engineering." Needless to say, this is SO Clark that I can barely take it)

WEBB-MANIA STRIKES D_____!

I tell you, check this kid's eye and then try to tell me that the world wasn't waiting for JOE WEBB!

Monday, December 27, 2010

World wide WEBB!

I was scoffed at, even by the biggest Vikings fan I know, for picking them against the Eagles.

Evidently, these doubters had forgotten Joe Webb. Which is BULLSHIT!

Joe says, regarding the game being postponed until Tuesday:

It's another situation you can't control. The only thing we can control is
keeping our focus and staying composed. We need to fight through this adversity.
It's important not to check out mentally and stay in the playbook studying so we
are prepared for the game.

He's a one-man Serenity Prayer, for cri yi!

Also!

What Joe did

Just SOME of the things Joe Webb did last night:

* scored his first pro touchdown!

* was decided upon as pere designee for a couple we know who are biogically unable to have a child

* caused the first winter solstice lunar eclipse in 370+ years!

* put out a house fire with his mind

* caused some magic-marker wizard at the game to posit (correctly!):

JOE NAMATH
JOE MONTANA
JOE WEBB

* gave hope to all mankind!

* remastered YOUR favorite album of all time so it now sounds fifty per cent better!

Let's not have any more of this bullshit about how there are no heroes anymore!

Mark my words well

Tonight Joe Webb starts at QB for the Vikings. He is really a wide receiver and is faster than Percy "Joe Morgan" Harvin.

He will score 150 points, singlehandedly, and deliver a baby in the stands!

Check it out!
