The park this last Sunday

More Jeff Koons nonsense

This looks like one of those "Easyfun/Ethereal" paintings, or maybe something newer.  But still!  One of those Koons things done in annoyingly mega-exacting detail, but which remains not very interesting at all. Maybe call it Iris [Laundry].

?uestlove aka "Little Duresko"

I like ?uestlove/Questlove well enough, seems like a good dude, and I liked that one Roots single off Things Fall Apart with Eve and Badu on it ["You Got Me"] from '99...but now I like him even more, when I saw this pic of him in Vanity Fair with his vinyl and saw that he has two copies of What Time is It? with the covers facing out [arrows added by your editor].

What the World Can Thank Me For

You know how, when you go to visit an elderly relative or maybe some invalid whom you went to school with and whom you now feel duty-bound to visit, and they say "How's the music going?" with a little twinkle, all happy for you that you can write world-beating songs but also happy that no one on earth gives a shit, thus ensuring that the foul twin temptresses of Fame and Fortune won't spirit you away from them and these obligatory visits, indeed, making sure that you will never ever be free of their rapacious clutches?

Well, when that happens, you can go "Music's great, especially since I got my Podals (tm) !"

Yep, the Willy Wanka [sic] Rock-Machine Factory of Chicago is officially Podals, apparently, which I had suggested as the name for this endeavor, given the nom du rock of Po used these many long centuries by the manufacturer...

If nothing else, then, I have bequeathed this product name on the cosmos!

Odd, this

All this mess in Syria; I shall not get way into specifics.

But what's odd is, when going through loose debris in drawers and boxes when we were clearing out my parents' place, I found this:

My parents used to travel quite a bit - but Syria? What??

Maybe it was my grandparents on mom side...

This has taken up residence in my work satchel. Scared to pitch it, or something.

Dorian Rafe

Let's see if anything mysterious happens, with this terrible/great 1984 Bowie portrait hung above the changing table. Glammy!

Were I still drinking,

and I saw the little credo on this expensive six-pack touting how the beer was made with wind power [nothing against windpower, at all, just cheesed at the innate smug steampunky handmadeness of putting that on there, when they would have done better to just wait for a little mention in an article on growth of windpower in Smithsonian], I would kick your screendoor off its hinges, probably.

So, like, gratitude.

Looking to lose her happy home

Picci, a selfish pig*, just can't stay out of the untried-by-baby-human crib.

This was at 7 am this morning.

* curiously (won't go so far as to say "interestingly"), when baby Rafe is all wound up, crying-wise, it's this insensitive lout who always comes up and sniffs with a "concerned" look on her face, so maybe she's not really so bad, but I doubt it.

Whoa

Amazing!

Limited Edition "RAFE on KUBRICK" book!

These two posts can be printed out and put stapled together by me in a very limited edition for, I dunno, a hundred bucks? Send it and we'll work something out.

Here's the cover art mock-up, cover text will be in that "New Order 1981" font that doesn't load in MSPaint.

Act now!
