The innate pre-Nirvana 1991ness of current music as exemplified by the Night Life listings in the current issue of The New Yorker

I mean:

* Drive-By Truckers

* Dum Dum Girls

* The War on Drugs

* Warpaint

All that's missing are Ugly Kid Joe, Jane's Addiction and Jesus Jones, really.

What's really needed is a new, unimaginable kind of 1993.
