Not to be a bummer

Reading a book from 1978 by Michael Herr called Dispatches, about the war in Vietnam and which was recommended back in May or so by one of those book-a-day calendars.  Zowie!, what a mess.

Lots and lots of cheery quotes such as: "A dead buddy is some tough shit, but bringing your own ass out alive can sure help you to get over it."

Very interesting in all, though.
