What sucks about this:

I don't know how true this is, necessarily (haven't read the article), but I'm sure part of the problem stems from kids complaining that it's "dumb" and all the references are "dumb."  I mean, who are the Lunts to these little pricks, anyway?  The 39 Steps?  What's that?  "every goddam mystery program on the radio" - huh?

Moreover, the teachers are all young and dumb, too.
