A friend told me some months back that he keeps 100 books. He reads other stuff, but then, when he decides something is a keeper, one of the 100 must leave the canon. Now, I could not do that, at least not so clinically. However, the basement is still full of crap I will likely never read again, and I can get rid of least 20% of crap you see here. 15%. No dinner guest is ever going to say "Does anybody have a copy of Bill Tilden's How to Play Better Tennis?" This is more a failing of my guests, I realize; of the sort of company I keep. And the area's huge new Goodwill administrative office has a drive-thru dropoff, so I really have no excuses.
Farewell, Papillon!
