Something useful such as this idea!

We were disconsolate as usual after another terrible episode of Gossip Girl (the Bride: "What's happened to my show?" Me: "It was our show...") and the Bride, with loafness asleep on lap, flipped mindlessly through our eight or nine non-cable channels we have at our disposal.  Always one for a good crappy police procedural, she alighted on an episode of Law and Order: SVU.

I am being completely honest when I saw I have watched under ten episodes of Dick Wolf-related shows in my life (the most recent SVU rerun I had seen [in Wichita at Easter 2007] had Torquin Campbell from Stars as a victim or a criminal or a victim/criminal).  So last night's molestathon shoulda seemed fresh, but did not.

My idea, though, was this: a series (or a sort of game show?) just like SVU but there is an in-built actual mystery in each episode.  The mystery is that the viewer has to try to guess which minor character or past victim of the creep on trial is going to be the one to pop out and shoot the accused on the way to court!  You have to decide which of two or three characters will jump out of the shadows to drop the Jack Ruby Street Justice(tm)! Every week!

Because, I think, every week doesn't justice get derailed and Street Justice rolls out and up?
