We knew all this, BUT:

Eric Clapton is garbage, right, although the piano segment of "Layla" was good in Goodfellas.  Okay.  I heard people deriding him for having a new album and its worst-ever title Old Sock.  So far, so bad.  But then I actually saw a copy of the stupid thing at Starbucks (next to the plainly shit new Depeche Mode record, no less).  And I have to admit that the product, taken whole - couldn't-give-less-of-a-toss title, amazingly shit "artist" photo" - almost, and only almost, fills me with some sort of perverse respect.

This also somewhat ties in with, or, at least, reminds me to mention, the recent local Elton John show that was the highest-grossing show ever at the venue, and which was attended by Every White Person You Have Ever Known.  Extra shout-outs to the 58-year-old golfer dudes whose wives dragged them there but whom can now tell the guys at the club "I tell ya, he puts on one helluva show!" and thus forever refute any homophobia allegations in perpetuity.

I particularly like how Mumford & Sons is looking over his shoulder.
