All the death and destruction, the cash outlay, the just general sadness and stress --  no, the worst part of post-9/11 life is how every cop-ish procedural needs to shoehorn in some shot-in-Indio scene where terrorists traverse dusty landscapes to end up secretly meeting up in a place that look like the back storeroom of a Pier One.
