My mom's car |
We had some neighbors when I was a kid, it was a second marriage, so it was all
very 1981 over there: Atari, first husband Dad guy picking up the kids on Friday nights,
Hi-Infidelity blaring... The interesting thing about these folks was as soon as it was about mid-April and temperature got to about 68 degrees they would turn the a/c on and leave it on until October. This sort of waste offended my weird skinflint mom who would sneer "unions!" about it, because the fact that Dad #2 was some sort of auto worker guy and was in a union explained how all this willynilly spend-thriftness occurred
in the first place.
