The Future of Football

Well, Leslie is fired, so if he WAS a part of the Vikings' general suckiness (which I'm not entirely sure of - his part in it, not the suckiness in general), maybe there will be a better season next year.  I watched a shit-ton of ball yesterday, and with the NFL still looked at askance with all the head injuries and such, I was thinking: what can be done to keep the game exciting as things will get (not unnecessarily) more nanny-stateish?  The only thing I could come up with was this:  when there is an interception, the offense suddenly becomes the defense, right?  The offensive linemen or anyone can be called upon to tackle the illicit receiver.  But what if the defense (that is: the team who was intercepted against - their defense guys on the sidelines) had to run on the field to tackle the guy who made the interception and the offensive players had to run off at the same time - while the play wherein the interception occurred was still going?

I really think it's the only hope.
