Still plugging away

Do tomatoes feel pain?  No, but readers do.  Zing.

I've got about a hundred pages left in Going Clear...it's odd, so much minutiae, and then they have an aside like [paraphrase] "the church had 300 million dollars in Switzerland," but then there's little explicating on exactly how they accrue that much money (charging for "auditing?" selling e-meters?*).  And the bizarre world of punishments: throwing people off the ships, making one unfortunate walk in circles in the desert (?) "until his teeth fell out." (???)  I mean, it's Scientology, so expect the bizarre, right?  Still, the book is sort of a mess.
