The Bobby Brown Story

Not much to tell, really, EXCEPT - I always like the song "My Prerogative" and still do like it, though not as strongly.  The reason I liked it was the way old BB said "Right, Ted?" to someone in the song, like it was just some buddy who had walked in.  Well, then about a year ago (or roughly twenty-five years after the song's release) I realized he was talking to new jack swing impresario Teddy Riley, who produced and co-wrote.  Now, they may have been great friends, but I liked the idea of a shout-out more to someone a bit more random.

Next month, I will go to Chicago and record a song called "I Never Meant to Rule So Hard" and put a shout-out in it to someone I know, possibly you.  No, no, I'll go "Right, Mike?"  That way, when Mike records it, he will be complicit as in the Bobby/Teddy fandango and future generations will look at the stars at night (visible again once the power goes) and shout out "why?"
