A wedding and Pitchfork fest with Breeders into Belle and Sebastian come up in consecutive weeks, then I just heard about Lollapalooza having New Order and the Cure, but then I saw that Mumford and Lumineers are also playing on it. When the swing resurgence was on ca. '97, I was suicidal nearly daily at the unshakable idea of marching band geeks loving that shit and, worse, some of their older parents being all happy that their gross spawn were enjoying "real music." Now it's one hundred years later and parents my age are probably happy that their fucked up but "happy" mouth-breathing Mumford kidz are listening to such positive music - 'why, they remind me of U2!,' say the folks, happily reliving school bus moments with their Under the Blood Red Sky cassettes.
