Baseball?!?

Yep, I'm always a-stopping strangers on the street to bitch about how much I hate inter-league play and the best-of-seven league championships (should be best of five), because neither of these problematic-for-me systems were around when I was small.  But then, just last week, I learned that there were no league championships until 1969!  Whichever teams had the best records in the leagues just went straight into the World Series no questions asked.  So had I been just a very few years older, I woulda grown up hating the 5-game championship contests!
