Rumors parsed:

Way back in October or so, I threw down the gauntlet to some friends who were, like me, whining that they were not making music. "What's the point?" we collectively groused. "We're old!" Never mind the simple joys of making some tunes you can actually stand to listen to! Where was the love?

So, we were all gently saddled with the idea that each of us had to have an album done by 1 April!

Well, holidays came and such, everyone sort of remembered about this, but more in a sense of "how's your album coming?" wink wink, I haven't done shit about it, either.

Well, just last Sunday, one of the participants puffed up like a proud penguin and claimed her record was "almost done." ! The temerity! Followthrough! In fact I will suggest to her that she call her record The Temerity of Followthrough!

With gauntlet duly out there, I have made entreaties to kind Rock Friends and we will commence recording a new steaming pile of NickEddyRock on Saturday...once in 1998, Cory and I did 10 songs in a week. Surely, I can have eleven tracks done by one April 1...?

Anyway, there are all sorts rumors out there. Let's squelch/verify:

1. There will likely be a song called "Precious Specimens." TRUE

2. There will be a song called "Where Were You (While I Was Somewhere Not
Giving a Shit About Girl Talk)?" FALSE

3. MC Lyte cameo! FALSE, except
maybe on bass somewhere.

4. The whole thing will be a rock opera with a story line charting the rise
and fall of Jeff "Frugal Gourmet" Smith. FALSE

5. In advance of this ignonimous release, I will find a way to sendspace a
bunch of old crap, such as Mink LPs and the Jet Age LP from 2003, and post links
here. TRUE

6. This album will make your spring/summer, if you have no other
records to listen to/have just gotten out of prison. TRUE

More on this as it develops. Alack.
