Heard a smidge of Ringo blather on an NPR teaser and the inevitable little tail end bit of new RingoSong about "me and the boys...me and the gang...living our fantasy..." which turned out to be called (wait for it) "In Liverpool." Of all places! I had expected "In Poole, Dorset!" Now, this song, from his new album 2012 (!) is not to be confused with his 2008 track "Liverpool 8," which, per youtube, contains the following bit of confounding lyrical inscutability:
Went to Hamburg[1], the red lights were on[2]With George[3] and Paul[4] and my friend John[5]
We rocked all night[6], we all looked tough[7]
we didn't have much but we had enough[8]

we didn't have much but we had enough[8]
All sung in his "I'm a sailor, me!" bulbous baritone.
I know this guy was in some famous band, but please, please me and stop it.
Although I'm a jumped-up prick, maybe. Some youtube commenter calls this:
and who am I to argue with that?

I saw him on Conan last night. Oddly, I was also thinking "Ringo, please stop!"
