In the 70's when the Big Red Machine was hot, Johnny Bench had a restaurant called "Home Plate." Clevah! Featured a salad bar! I suppose other Reds must have owned bars and nightclubs and such. It's hard to imagine Pete Rose not being all Jake LaMotta-in-Miami in his.
One day in 1977 or so, when we were bored, my neighbor Mark and I made up up a fake menu for a place called Joe Hague's Rained Out. The only thing I remember about the offerings was that one menu item was "a gallon of Muscatel in a milk carton."
