Went to see the
Quadrophenia documentary, with a gaggle of fellow dorks. It was good! $12.50 good? I think not (particularly after learning on arrival that it was just some BBC documentary that I could have found on youtube), but still: fun. It was fun that they tracked down some girls who were in the pictures in the album booklet (of which more in a future post). The footage from the 60's was amazing, Pete twitching like some sort of bug as he played "I Can't Explain." After the shortish film proper, there were going to be various live clips of the various Who permutations playing tracks from the album o'er the centuries, but the first one was so appalling - Pete with an acoustic guitar up like a bow-tie, various Vegas-y horn dudes (1996?) - that I told our compatriots "Good luck!" and we amscrayed.
