The Music Stand Story

I had an idea that I needed a music stand so Kyle and I went to Mendelson's.  In actual proper Mendelson's, the guy at the desk, who looked like a Cleveland cabbie from 1974, when asked about music stands and whether they had them (this place is about 500K square feet), said "No" before the words from my mouth even had time to cool.  But then he goes: "Try over in the liquidation outlet, I remember putting two over there..."  Oh, really?

So, we traipsed across to the annex-y "other building."  Asked the young lady over there and SHE says, "Like these?" and right in front of the cash register where she was plopped were TWO music stands including one that goes for about two hundred bucks wholesale.  Which I got for TWENTY BUCKS.

The bad news is that I need to this to write lyrics (bad) for songs for a little combo we're doing (worse) and I thought I would do better writing lyrics if I stood up at a podium like Nabokov (the very nadir of worstness).

ANYway, that's The Music Stand Story.
