Just took my dad to the doctor and didn't want to take Lolita (yes, I am in the throes of a Nabokov kick again) into the waiting room, on the off-chance it could prove offputting if one of the other 11 citizens in this corner of the state with a library card happened to be there*...so I took a book from my trunk that has been just sitting there: My Ten Years in a Quandary by Robert Benchley.
What made me laugh was the list of his other books, which included a tome I must order: 20,000 League Under the Sea, or David Copperfield.
Chortle!
* "So that's how he gets his kicks, reading Lolita at the urologist's office. Tut tut!"
