Have failed to mention I loved The Yiddish Policemen's Union. Ten times better than ...Kavalier and Klay. The actual solution to the murder mystery, as often happens, was a bit of a letdown/who cares?, but there were a few sections in the middle, where, as in Pati Highsmith's best, one could actually feel suspense, and the delights of uncertainty in outcome. Excellent! Plus Kevin Costner turns out to be Russian! Or something. Anyway, I'm sure the Coens will make this epic as all hell.
