The Bride had to go to Birmingham, AL, last week and part of the trip was going to some sort of museum/park place that kids in the AL state school system (and some come for field trips from other states) can investigate US history...the hot part was a presentation where these southern-fried 10 year olds got up and read little historical roles, in their native dialect, which sounded very pleasant to the Bride's northren [sic] ears. Eg:
Mah name is Button Gwinnett. I am a sahner of the Declaraytion of
Indeependence. Ah think that the Virginia territory should leave the
British commonwe-yul.
Or:
Ah am Crispus Attucks.
etc.
