Vonnegut sort-of doppelganger James Macneil Whistler, right? "Whistler's Mother" painter?
I was at the doctor on Monday reading an Esquire and came across this anecdote about him...he was a big wit, right, and friends with Oscar Wilde. So Whistler makes some particularly great cutting remark and the Wilde One says "I wish I'd said that!"
Whistler says: "You will, Oscar."
