Waiting for bloodwork on one of the cats yesterday (she's fine - thyroid), I was reading the intro to A Social Contract by Rousseau (as one does, he said, not even a bit hyper-pretentiously) and I came across a quote wherein he mentions his precocious reading in his l'il Swiss village and his love of Greek and Roman philosophers and wham!, there was a quote that was SO the first line of some to-be-written Steven Patrick LP opener:
I was Roman by the time I was twelve.
I may need to swipe this, actually.
