Vampire Catchall (or: I'm sorry, Wes...it was just me)

One year in, the Vampire Weekend record is pretty good! I still hate the jittery songs like "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" and "A-Punk" in much the same way I always hated the more frenetic early XTC tracks or (gasp) Oingo Boingo. "Let's have a PARTY!" say bouncy, jittery tracks to me. "No," sayeth I, stirring more tiramisu creamer into my coffee. "Walcott," "M79" and "Campus" remain excellent, as does the unimpeachable "Mansard Roof." If there were still money in the world, I would get these kids in with Trevor Horn post-haste! Also, points for the cover (still).

(Sorry about the gabtastic nature of this posting, in advance. As some beret frog* would say: il a eu trop de caféine!, but it's way too late for half-measures)

Speaking of Wes Anderson:

Or, for that matter (all is forgiven, if you couldn't tell):

Or, for THAT matter:

AND, per closing credits of Zissou, when WAS the last time I saw ...Buckaroo Banzai? It may have been IN the theatre...I have to get on this.

Whew! Thanks for staying with me through that!

* beret frog is also an anagram of GERT FROBE!
