Like most Americans, I was under the impression that Jack Nance died in a bizarre just-made-for-David Lynch fight in a donut shop. The truth is much more complicated and sad.The actor who played Eraserhead and, as humble lumberman Pete Martell, uttered the immortal words "She's dead...wrapped in plastic" that launched the series Twin Peaks lived a life fraught with sorrow.
